Instrumentation, Measurement & Control Technology

Instrumentation, Measurement & Control Technology program develops skills for the installation, maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of systems used to measure and control the flow, level, temperature and pressure in automated industrial processes in the chemical, oil and gas industry. Courses combine technical theory, use of state-of-the-art equipment, and hands-on experience necessary to work in industrial instrumentation fields across the state and throughout the country, including chemical operations, upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas, petrochemical, and power generation industries.

BridgeValley Community and Technical College’s (BridgeValley) Instrumentation, Measurement, and Control Program is offered in a blended format. Blended learning is a learner-centered approach that integrates face-to-face (synchronous) learning and online learning (asynchronous) to achieve the intended learning objectives.

A blended course involves online materials and activities and face-to-face hands-on lab sessions -essentially a “blend” of both live and online learning. Blended courses replace a large portion of the traditional face-to-face instruction with web-based online learning. Blended classes give more flexibility than campus only classes but retain the benefit of meeting with your instructor in-person also
