BridgeValley Community & Technical College Board of Governors Names Suzette Breeden the Permanent Vice President of Academic Affairs

The BridgeValley Community and Technical College (BVCTC) President, Casey K. Sacks, Ph.D., announced Suzette Breeden’s permanent promotion to Vice President of Academic Affairs for the college.

Breeden brings a wealth of higher education experience and has demonstrated her ability to excel in this role since she became Interim Vice President of Academica Affairs in July 2021. Prior to that, she served as the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs for three years.

“I am thrilled to assume this responsibility and excited to continue our focus on growth and expansion as we move forward”, Breeden said.

“The pandemic changed the landscape of higher education and the job market. It’s important for community colleges to take a leadership role, prepare students for success in today’s job market and help shape and strengthen the state’s workforce,” said Casey K. Sacks, Ph.D., President of BVCTC.

Breeden added, “We have to equip our students to enter (or re-enter) the West Virginia workforce and fill the gaps created by COVID. As an executive leader at BVCTC my focus will be to grow enrollment, expand our workforce programs, and the expansion of our outstanding nursing education program.”

“It is wonderful to have this continuity of leadership. We value long-time employees and love to see life- long West Virginians like Suzette move into executive roles,” said Sacks.
