GreenPower Motor Company, a leader in alternative-energy vehicle manufacturing, will begin production of its zero-emission, all-electric school busses in the South Charleston Industrial Park in the summer, 2022. Called the BEAST (battery electric automotive school transportation), GreenPower Motor Company’s school bus seats up to 90 passengers and is safe, reliable, and features a monocoque truss(t) chassis. Among its other features, it is equipped with the largest standard battery pack available for student transportation, which gives it a driving range of 150 miles, the industry leader.

Pre-Employment Screening

The Workforce Development Board of Kanawha County (WDB-KC) will assist GreenPower Motor by screening and referring qualified individuals as applicants for employment. Electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and fabrication skills are highly desired.

In addition to screening and referring qualified candidates for GreenPower Motor, the WDB-KC has money to help pay for training, transportation, books, childcare, and other things needed to prepare for employment.

Pre-Employment Training

BridgeValley Community and Technical College is GreenPower Motor’s training partner. To prepare for this employment opportunity and to develop the technical skills need at GreenPower Motor, we recommend you enroll in the Advanced Manufacturing degree program with a concentration in fabrication.

Steps to take:

Enroll in our 10-week late start semester that begins Feb. 21 and ends May 5, 2022 by submitting BridgeValley’s application.
