Toyota Motor Manufacturing – West Virginia
TMMWV and BridgeValley have a relationship that surpasses the boundaries of the classroom. TMMWV partners with BridgeValley to provide industry expertise on curriculum and donates equipment to ensure students are learning on the latest cutting-edge technology. Students in the Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) program attend school two days a week and work at the plant three days a week; some students have earned more than $40,000 during the program. TMMWV provides granting funding for and participates in K-12 outreach activities to engage and introduce students to the STEM fields, such as Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day and the Capital City Pumpkin Drop.
TMMWV is an exceptional partner that actively supports BridgeValley and the importance of a community and technical college education. BridgeValley’s partnership with TMMWV is an incredible opportunity for faculty, staff, and students to work with a thriving international leader in the automotive industry.
“Toyota West Virginia is proud to be a long-standing partner with BridgeValley. The school’s dedication to educate West Virginia’s students by using hands-on, interactive applied learning methods is right in line with Toyota’s culture. We appreciate BridgeValley’s innovative spirit and look forward to continuing our partnership for years to come.”
TMMWV employs nearly 2,000 team members in its $1.5 billion plant where it produces 4-cylinder engines, 6-cylinder engines, 8-speed automatic transmissions, gears and hybrid transaxles.
Each month BridgeValley recognizes a partner that has shown great efforts in supporting and promoting the College's mission, vision, and values.
