Presidential Search

Thank you for your interest in the BridgeValley Presidential Search! Below are details of the open forums and candidate search events. 


Search Schedule:  Dec 2, 2021 – Dr. Phillip Klein


The South Charleston forums for students/community will begin at 11:30AM and for employees beginning at 1:15PM. The South Charleston forums will be held at Building 2000 in room 137/138.


The Montgomery forums for employees will begin at 3:15PM and for students/community beginning at 4:15PM. The Montgomery forums will be held in the Davis Hall auditorium.


Presidential Candidates:


Dr. Casey Sacks has dedicated many years to the Community and Technical College System and has served over twelve years in leadership roles. Dr. Sacks holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration, and currently serves as the Acting President of BridgeValley Community and Technical College. Dr. Sacks’ background includes serving eight years as the Assistant Provost for the Colorado Community College System, two stints as Vice Chancellor for the West Virginia Community and Technical College System, as well as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Community Colleges at the United States Department of Education. 






Dr. Philip Klein has devoted over twenty-five years to public service. Dr. Klein transitioned to Higher Education in 2012 and has served as a senior-level administrator since 2016. Dr. Klein holds a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Management, and currently serves as the Vice president of Economic and Workforce Development at West Virginia Northern Community College. Dr. Klein’s background includes serving for several years as Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs at Gwinnett Technical College in Georgia, as well as holding the position of Dean of Health and Public Safety Programs at South Piedmont Community College in North Carolina. 




Dr. Camille Reese has committed the last twenty-five years to serving higher education. Dr. Reese holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and is currently serving as the Vice President for Instruction at Mitchell Community College. Dr. Reese’s background includes many years in faculty leadership roles at Winston Salem State University in North Carolina, where she held the role of BSN Program Coordinator and Assistant Professor, and at the Northwest Area Health Education Center/ Bowman Gray School of Medicine in North Carolina, where she was the Associate Director of Nursing Education. Dr. Reese also served nine years as Dean at Mitchell Community College in North Carolina.
