Testing

The Student Success Center (SSC) offers a quiet, private, proctored testing room where students can take a variety of tests. Students need to arrive at the center on time for their scheduled tests, and are required to bring their driver’s license or a photo ID for check in.  

Accuplacer

Accuplacer Testing: The testing center administers the Accuplacer Placement exam that measures entry-level skills in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics. ACCUPLACER uses the latest computer-adaptive technology and the questions you see are based on your skill level. Your response to each question drives the difficulty level of the next question so it’s important to give each question as much thought as you can before selecting your answer. No one passes or fails ACCUPLACER tests, but it’s important to complete the test using your best effort, so you and your college have an accurate measure of your academic skills. Any placement score (ACT, SAT, or COMPASS, etc.) older than five years is not valid for placement; students with scores older than five years must take current Accuplacer exam for initial course placement.

Course Exam Proctoring  .

The Student Success Center proctors exams for online courses taken at BridgeValley at no cost to the student. Proctored exams are given in a supervised environment. Faculty determine when necessary for a student to be offered a proctored exam. A proctored exam may be due to illness, absence, or other accommodations. Students MUST have a scheduled time to complete a proctored exam.

There is a 24-hour timeslot before exam day to register and schedule the time of the exam, dependent upon seating and test administration information. Seating is limited. To secure a slot, plan to register as soon as possible.

Proctored Exams for BridgeValley CTC Students

The Testing Center offers proctoring services to students enrolled in BridgeValley CTC coursework free of charge.

For your convenience, testing candidates can now register for all exams online through RegisterBlast®. RegisterBlast® is a quick, easy and confidential way for all testing candidates to register and confirm an appointment to complete testing. All test candidates must complete the online registration through RegisterBlast to schedule a test date.

Proctored Exams for External (Non-BVCTC) Students

BridgeValley CTC offers test proctoring to non-BVCTC students, generally exams from another college or university. A $15 proctoring fee is assessed for this service.

TEAS Testing

TEAS Testing: For those students looking for a degree in Nursing, the SSC will be offering the TEAS test that will assess a student’s readiness for the Nursing Program.

CLEP Testing

CLEP Testing: The BridgeValley Student Success Center is an authorized CLEP Center. Students have an opportunity to schedule out of certain classes offered at BridgeValley as well as other colleges. The cost and schedule will be available by request.
