Workforce Development Board’s Wage Reimbursement Programs

Workforce Development Board’s Wage Reimbursement Programs

Similar to the Learn & Earn programs, employers may receive reimbursement for “Empowered Employment” and “On-the -Job Training” programs.

Empowered Employment programs are for companies who are providing temporary employment or a work experience for individuals with barriers to employment.  Such companies can be in the Public, Private, or Non-Profit Sectors and can receive 100% reimbursement of net wages paid to such employees for up to 26 weeks.  There may or may not be guaranteed employment at the end of the Empowered Employment contract.

For On-the -Job Training programs, participants are hired by the company and trained to acquire skills while also earning wages and benefits as a full-time employee.  Such companies receive up to 50% of Net Wage Reimbursement, reduction in training cost, and employer-designed training.
