The Criminal Justice program at BVCTC is one of the programs approved under the West Virginia Invests Grant. Students receive free tuition under the grant program.

The field of criminal justice involves the three components of the criminal justice system: police, courts and corrections and how those components interact to promote public safety.  It also includes study of the juvenile justice system and the extent and causes of crime among adults and juveniles. Criminal Justice is an exciting and interesting discipline that will lead to attractive and worthwhile careers.  

With an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Criminal Justice from BridgeValley you will have the knowledge necessary to transfer to four-year colleges and universities that offer a variety of degree options related to criminal justice fields.  You will also be qualified to pursue a variety of entry-level positions in the Criminal Justice System at local and state government levels.

The instructors are seasoned professionals with decades of experience in various aspects of the criminal justice system and bring that experience with them into the classroom.

BVCTC prepares students to enter the workforce in many professions and has partnered with several 4-year colleges and universities to provide students with a seamless transition to continue their studies in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree.
