Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) is administered through the Dept. of Human Services (DoHS). In order to qualify you must:
- have zero to very little monthly income
- have dependents (under the age of 18) in the home
You must apply for TANF through your local county DoHS office.
If you become eligible, or are already receiving TANF you will receive on-campus supports and services through the Student Services TANF Support staff. The purpose of these supports is to help you with navigating your educational journey, beginning with application and FAFSA completion assistance. Throughout your education you will be assisted with overcoming barriers that would prevent you from achieving your academic goals. TANF staff will also assist you in job and career exploration and placement, as well as helping you should your goal be to go on to obtain a bachelor’s degree.
The services that TANF staff provide our students are integrated, comprehensive and personalized. For more information, or if you are already receiving TANF but unaware of these supports please email.
