Associate of Applied Science

Veterinary Technology

The Veterinary Technology program is a cooperative program between BridgeValley Community and Technical College and Carver Career and Technical Education Center in Malden, West Virginia. The program is nationally credited by the American Veterinary Medical Association*. Completion of this program leads to an associate of applied science in Veterinary Technology from BridgeValley CTC.

*The AVMA Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA) has placed the Veterinary Technology program on Probationary Accreditation. The program's three-year average VTNE passage rate percentage for first-time test takers did not meet the required benchmark. Programs on Probationary Accreditation are still officially accredited. Graduates from programs on Probationary accreditation are graduates of an AVMA CVTEA-accredited program.

Financial aid is limited to Pell and Higher Education Adult Part-time Student (HEAPS) grants for students enrolled in the Carver cooperative programs.  At this time, the Carver programs do not accept the Promise Scholarship or other State scholarships. Direct all scholarship applicability questions to the financial aid counselor at Carver Career and Technical Center.
