What Is STAND?

The STAND Program helps skilled trades professionals turn their apprenticeship into a college degree. If you're in a registered skilled trade apprenticeship — or have completed one — your training may already count as college credit toward an Associate of Applied Science degree at BridgeValley.

How It Works: A Clear Path Forward

  1. Your skilled trade apprenticeship counts as college credit.
  2. Apply to STAND online at cfwv.com/financial-aid/stand.
  3. Enroll at BridgeValley Community & Technical College.
  4. Complete your general education courses.
  5. Earn your associate degree.

In many cases:

  • Just 5 courses to complete your degree
  • Can be completed in about one year or less
  • Flexible scheduling — evening, weekend, and online options
  • Continue working while you learn

What You Get

Tuition-Free: All tuition and approved academic fees for general education courses are covered.

Real Benefits:

    • Advance into leadership roles
    • Increase your earning potential
    • Strengthen your credentials
    • Open new career opportunities
