SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. - BridgeValley Community & Technical College is proud to announce that Tammy McClanahan has been named the 2025 West Virginia Veteran of the Year by the Military Friendly®organization. This prestigious award recognizes veterans who demonstrate outstanding leadership, service, and a lasting positive impact within their communities.

Ms. McClanahan, a valued member of the BridgeValley community, has made significant contributions through her service and leadership, making her a remarkable representative of both BridgeValley and the state of West Virginia.

“Receiving this award is an extraordinary honor—one that reflects not just my work, but the support, collaboration, and inspiration of everyone who has been part of this journey, especially my BridgeValley family. I’m deeply grateful and humbled,” said McClanahan.

As West Virginia’s honoree, Ms. McClanahan now advances to the national selection round for the Military Friendly® National Veteran of the Year. Together, we can ensure West Virginia’s voice is heard nationwide. BridgeValley encourages students, faculty, staff, and residents across the state to rally behind her.
