SOUTH CHARLESTON, W. Va. – BridgeValley Community and Technical College will honor military members, veterans and first responders during a special Military & Veterans Night with the Charleston Dirty Birds on September 11, 2026, at GoMart Ballpark.

Military members, veterans and first responders are invited to attend the game with their families. BridgeValley is providing complimentary tickets, with up to four tickets available per person.

“This is an opportunity for BridgeValley to say thank you to the men and women who have served our country and who continue to serve our communities every day,” said BridgeValley President Dr. Chris Treadway. “We hope veterans, military families and first responders from throughout the region will join us for a fun evening together at the ballpark.”

Gates are expected to open at approximately 5:45 p.m., with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Dr. Treadway will welcome attendees prior to the start of the game.

The evening will also bring together organizations and groups that serve veterans and the community. Representatives from the West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance will participate, along with a representative from the Vet Center. JROTC students from Nitro High School and South Charleston High School are also expected to attend.

BridgeValley will highlight the role of first responders throughout the evening, including the college's Emergency Medical Services programs and ambulance. Additional veteran and community organizations are expected to participate.
