Become a BridgeValley CTC Student Ambassador!

What is the program?

The BridgeValley CTC Student Ambassador program is for enthusiastic students who want to represent the college as official spokespersons. Ambassadors are located on both the South Charleston and Montgomery campuses.

Why be an Ambassador?
There are many benefits to being a Student Ambassador! You'll gain valuable experience in:

  • Scholarship applications
  • Developing transferable skills

On top of that, you can earn a tuition waiver!

  • Work 10 hours a week and get a partial tuition waiver (about 2/3 of tuition covered).
  • Work 15 hours a week and get a full tuition waiver.

*Work-study eligible students can get paid hourly through this program in lieu of the tuition waiver* 

What will you do as an Ambassador?
As a Student Ambassador, you'll collaborate with the Office of Student Life to:

  • Plan, staff, and set up for campus events and activities.
  • Assist at career, college, and community events.
  • Welcome visitors and answer questions at the campus Welcome Desk.
  • Conduct campus tours (both group and individual).
  • Help with administrative tasks like creating flyers and social media posts.

Who can be an Ambassador?

  • Full-time student with at least 12 credit hours
  • In good academic standing (GPA of 2.5 or higher, no disciplinary action)* 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude
  • Team player, open to training
  • Strong character, loyal to the college
  • Comfortable speaking in public (both small and large groups)
  • Able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week (up to 15 hours possible)
  • Flexible schedule, able to work some evenings and Fridays (when available)

*GPA requirements are temporarily waived for first-time freshman*
