Radiologic Technologist Assistant
The radiologic technologist assistant program prepares students for entry-level support
roles in medical imaging, focusing on both technical and patient care responsibilities.
Radiologic technologist assistants work with certified technologists, helping check in and educate patients, assist with exam preparation, positioning and transportation, process imaging, manage supplies, maintain exam rooms, operate PACS systems, and perform clerical duties — all while adhering to HIPAA guidelines. This open enrollment program also serves as a pathway toward an associate degree in radiologic technology (selective admission) for those seeking career advancement. (Selective Admission Point Sheet)
Students gain practical skills such as:
-
Greeting and preparing patients for exams
-
Handling equipment, including CR and DR systems
-
Managing imaging records using PACS
-
Maintaining supplies and preparing exam rooms
Courses emphasize patient safety, effective communication, and adherence to institutional procedures.
Graduates of radiologic technologist assistant programs are prepared for entry-level roles in hospitals, clinics and imaging centers under supervision.
