SOUTH CHARLESTON, W. Va. - BridgeValley Community and Technical College extends its sincere appreciation to Senators Joe Manchin and Shelley Moore Capito for their indispensable role in securing funding for the expansion of BridgeValley’s Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) Program. The $212,000 allocation, included in the FY24 Appropriation Bill as a Congressionally Directed Spending request, marks a significant milestone in enhancing access to vital healthcare education and training in West Virginia.
The project aims to expand access to and the capacity of the MLT Program by retrofitting a classroom with all necessities required for a fundamentals of microbiology instructional space, along with necessary equipment and supplies. This investment will not only enrich the learning environment for students but also strengthen the college's ability to provide essential healthcare professionals to meet the growing demands of the industry.
