How Financial Aid Disbursement Works

Financial aid is applied to your account after the Financial Aid Office confirms that you’re eligible and sends your award to the Cashier’s Office. Your aid is first used to pay your charges (like tuition, fees, and books).

  • If your financial aid is more than your charges, you’ll receive the extra money as a refund.
  • If your financial aid is less than your charges, you’ll still owe the remaining balance to BVCTC.

When You’ll Receive Your Aid

Financial aid is first disbursed on the second Wednesday after classes begin (once the add/drop period ends). After that, disbursements happen every Wednesday for students who become eligible later.

To avoid delays, make sure you’ve submitted all required documents by the deadlines. You can check your status in the Financial Aid section of MyBridge to see if everything is complete.

MyBridge Financial Aid Guide

Step 1: Log in to MyBridge

  1. Go to www.bridgevalley.edu/mybridge-links
  2. Log in using:
    • Username: Your BridgeValley student email
    • Password: Your school email password
      • First-time users: Use the temporary password from your acceptance letter
  3. After logging in, select Student SSB

Step 2: View Required Financial Aid Documents

  1. Click Financial Aid
  2. Make sure the Aid Year at the top is correct
    • Aid years start in the fall (example: Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 = 2023–2024)
  3. Your Student Requirements will appear on the main page
    • Yellow = action needed
    • Green = completed
  4. Click the down arrow next to each requirement for details
    • If a form is needed, click the blue title to download it
    • Items marked “received” or “processing” will stay yellow until fully processed

Step 3: Review Your Financial Aid Offer

  1. Click Financial Aid
  2. Select Offer
  3. Confirm the Aid Year at the top is correct
  4. Scroll down to view your grants and scholarships
    • Note: Cost of Attendance and Net Cost are for financial aid calculations only and are not your bill

Step 4: Accept Student Loans (Only if needed)

  1. Choose to accept the full loan amount or a lower amount
  2. First-time loan borrowers at BridgeValley must:
