Maverick Hudson

Congratulations to Maverick Hudson, Coordinator of ASCEND and Support Programs, for being named Employee of the Month!

Maverick’s positive attitude and unwavering dedication have made a significant impact on his students. As an advisor, he goes beyond expectations, ensuring that students feel supported and valued. His commitment to knowing his students well and assisting with event setups whenever possible further demonstrates his dedication to their success.

A testament to his impact, students in online GNST classes consistently recognize Maverick as a key reason for their continued academic journey. His support and encouragement have truly made a difference, and we are grateful for his hard work and dedication.

Employee of the Month Robyn Mills

Robyn Mills

BridgeValley Community and Technical College is proud to recognize Robyn Mills as Employee of the Month! Robyn has recently transitioned into the role of Department Chair for the Dental Hygiene Program, a position she stepped into with professionalism, dedication, and remarkable endurance. Having been a valued faculty member for over three years—and previously serving in the role before—Robyn’s expertise and leadership have made a significant impact on both students and staff.

Taking on the department chair position unexpectedly, Robyn has shown an unwavering commitment to ensuring a seamless transition for everyone involved. She has worked tirelessly to uphold the high standards of the program while also fostering a supportive and collaborative environment. Her colleagues admire her strong leadership, mentorship, and willingness to go above and beyond to assist others.

Robyn’s dedication to community service is also commendable. As the former advisor for the Student American Dental Hygienists’ Association (SADHA), she played a pivotal role in organizing community outreach efforts, leaving a lasting impact before passing the torch to her successor this year. Additionally, her work as Clinic Coordinator has contributed greatly to the program’s success. Through her strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, she has collaborated with colleagues to find cost-effective solutions for the department while maintaining quality education and services.

Beyond her administrative and instructional contributions, Robyn is widely recognized for her kindness, professionalism, and commitment to work-life balance for her team. Her colleagues describe her as an inspiration, a mentor, and a pillar of the BridgeValley community, with deep connections to Montgomery. Her leadership has left an indelible mark on those who work alongside her, and her dedication to excellence continues to elevate the Dental Hygiene Program.

Employee of the Month Nathaniel Ayre

Nat Ayre

BridgeValley is proud to recognize Nathaniel Ayre as our Employee of the Month!

What you do in your role?
My role as Associate Registrar includes certifying and reviewing graduates, evaluating academic standing, coordinating input of transfer and non-traditional credit, publishing updates and changes to the college catalog, and coordinating various aspects of registration, but I wear many hats from day to day while assisting students, faculty, and staff.

What do you like best about working at BridgeValley?  
The sense of community and support.

 

What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I love to try new things in the kitchen (especially baking), I enjoy weekend road trips to new places, and I am an avid reader.

Employee of the Month Summer Johnson

We are thrilled to recognize Summer Johnson, Institutional Advisor, as our Employee of the Month!

Since joining the team in the spring of 2024, Summer has quickly become an invaluable asset. Her dedication and exceptional efforts in advising new students, particularly within the health sciences division, have made a significant impact. Summer’s willingness to go above and beyond, stepping in wherever needed, exemplifies her commitment to teamwork and student success.

In addition to her outstanding work ethic, Summer has demonstrated an impressive ability to learn our curriculum and gain comprehensive knowledge of all our programs. Her approachable demeanor and engaging personality have helped her build strong connections with students, enhancing their overall experience.

Employee of the Month Savannah Harrison

BridgeValley is proud to recognize Mrs. Savannah Harrison as our Employee of the Month!

Mrs. Harrison exemplifies dedication and leadership in every aspect of her role. She consistently steps up to volunteer for school activities, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to the success of our students and programs.

Among her many contributions, she serves as a co-leader of the Student Nurse Association alongside Mandi Eich, fostering growth and engagement among future nursing professionals. Additionally, she plays an active role in the nursing program by serving on several committees and will be joining a college faculty committee in the coming year.

Despite the demands of her work, Mrs. Harrison remains a model of professionalism, showing respect and care to everyone in her environment—even in stressful situations. Her positive attitude and commitment to excellence inspire those around her.

Congratulations to the employee of the month, Emily Bostic.  

What you do in your role?
Emily is one of BridgeValley's financial aid counselors.

What do you like best about working at BridgeValley?
It feels like home!  I was a student at BridgeValley and was very excited to come back as an employee after graduating with my master's in public administration. 

What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I love to travel! My favorite places to visit are Walt Disney World and Charleston SC!

Employee of the Month Justin Tomblin

Congratulations to the employee of the month, Justin Tomblin.  Justin is the Interim Associate Admissions Director.

What you do in your role?
The Associate Admissions Director is responsible for the leadership and administration of the admissions process for the academic, workforce, and selective admissions programs and has direct oversight of the admissions team. This position works to support increased growth and uses the institution's software programs, database, and Banner reports to set communication, processing, and enrollment goals. This position reports directly to the VPSA and serves on the division's Senior Leadership Team.

What do you like best about working at BridgeValley?
I love that I get to assist students on a daily basis. Aside from that BVCTC feels like a family. Everyone has their own issues and everyone has their own work, but we all come together for the good of the students. We are very student centered.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I like to hike, paint, draw, cook, and play video games when I’m not at work.

Employee of the Month Cody Tomblin

Congratulations to the employee of the month, Cody Tomblin.  Cody is the Director of ASCEND & Support Programs.

What you do in your role?  In my role as the Director for ASCEND and Support Programs, I oversee a federally funded initiative designed to support student success. This comprehensive program assists students in overcoming obstacles to graduation by providing personalized guidance, financial aid, and career readiness support. We diligently identify student needs and address them through internal services or referrals to community resource partners.

What do you like best about working at BridgeValley? What I like best about working at BridgeValley is the constant innovation and forward-thinking approach in program development, business partnerships, and addressing workforce needs. This dynamic environment makes my work incredibly exciting and fulfilling. I am thrilled to contribute to these innovative projects and initiatives, knowing that they have a significant impact on our community and students. Additionally, I am honored to play a part in each student's educational journey, helping them achieve their goals and overcome obstacles. Being a part of their success stories is truly rewarding. 

What do you like to do when you’re not working? When I'm not working, I love to immerse myself in a good book, particularly thrillers, suspense, and mystery novels. I'm also a big fan of horror movies. Additionally, I spend my free time gaming and exploring different genres of music. These hobbies help me relax and recharge, allowing me to bring fresh energy and ideas to my work at BridgeValley.

Employee of the Month Mike King

Congratulations to the employee of the month, Mike King.  Mike is the Utility LIne Service Mechanic Instructor.

What you do in your role? Prepare students with the Basic skill Sets to gain employment in the Utility Industry.

What do you like best about working at BridgeValley? Working with the students and watching them progress though their training process.

What do you like to do when you’re not working? I enjoy spending time with family in the outdoors.

Employee of the Month Paula Beasley

Congratulations to the employee of the month, Paula Beasley.  Paula is the Marketing Coordinator/Student Communications Specialist.

What you do in your role?  I get to wear several hats.  I get to work with the marketing and communications functions of BridgeValley.  My main responsibilities include:  website, CRM, social media, photography, newsletters and more.  

What do you like best about working at BridgeValley?  I get to work with all divisions, students and staff. It is so great working with such a great team of diverse individuals.   I would say everyone is the best.  I also like, that not one day is the same; everyday is different.  

What do you like to do when you’re not working? I love to travel, spend time with my 17 year old puppy Gizmo and my family.

Employee of the Month Justa Atha

Congratulations to the employee of the month, Justa Atha.  Justa is the Operations Assistant.

What you do in your role?  I’m currently transitioning from our Financial Affairs Division to our Operations Division, so I’m balancing the training of my replacement while also learning about my new role. My experience as a Purchasing Accountant has given me great insight into how varied the operational needs are across our institution’s divisions. I believe this experience will help me better understand how the Operations Division plays a role in the success of those divisions. Some of my new responsibilities include the drafting of facility use agreements, room reservations for internal and external parties, project planning and coordination, budget management, purchasing, and administrative support.

What do you like best about working at BridgeValley?  We have the best people. No contest.

What do you like to do when you’re not working? I enjoy spending time with my family, cuddling my three cats, tending to my chickens, gardening, and reading.
